Hypnotherapy can be, quite simply, amazing. It is even sometimes used instead of a general anaesthetic during surgery!
Hypnosis is all about using the power of your mind, learning to control your brain, making new pathways reinforcing new habits of behaviour, forging new belief systems – but of your own choosing.
As well as confidence-building, breaking negative or undesirable habits and improving sleep.
But let’s get one thing very clear. Hypnosis is not about letting someone control you. It’s actually the opposite. It’s about the hypnotherapist teaching and enabling you to be in control.
So forget what you may have heard. Nobody can be hypnotised against their will. Hypnosis is about two things happening together – deep relaxation alongside deep concentration.
It’s mind and body working together to help bring healing.
When you’re in hypnosis, you’re very relaxed, but at the same time, you’re very much aware of everything, a state of heightened awareness – and you stay in total control.
The intense level of concentration you achieve lets you shut out the distractions around you. It can take away limiting beliefs so you visualise a better scenario for the future.
And it helps you open up to suggestions about changing your thoughts to bring changes or modifications in your behaviour.
As part of your sessions, you’ll be given recordings to repeat the process at home. This is to reinforce the work we have done together and let us go deeper and further in our next session.
